  • Cracked block????????

    What would be the chances if you blew a head gasket and it over heated... Could the block crack? let me know ur thoughts.

    hope that didn't happen to you. RB26 is pretty strong. but I'd go crazy with a leek test,wet test, compression test. there are some good how too videos on utube.
    also if you have any buddys with those new camera's that can go in the block.

      I doubt it. A cracked block normally occurs from freezing or inside parts trying to get out.

        I'd be surprised to hear that a block cracked from overheating. Having said that, overheating isn't great for the fit between the block and the head and the block.

        Do you see symptoms of a problem or just wonder?

          Your head is more likely to crack then block since the head is aluminum. Your HG could be perfectly okay, but you may have put a wee crack in between the water jackets and chamber.

          Exactly what was wrong with my car.

            i got my head pressure tested, resurfaced and new valve seals put in. cometic gaskets all around and arp headstuds, still the coolant leak persists and idle drops and car stalls when thermostat opens
