Getter off maxing out your oem turbo and getting gtr injectors.
Those turbos can't handle much more than stock boost, and the welds on the manifold would crack under higher boostR33 GTST RB25DET series 1

I used an Ebay turbo on my Sentra SE-R Spec V for two years running 8psi and externally gated with no problems whatsoever. Car ran consistently strong and put down about 310hp on the ground. I could easily smoke even a modded GTR without trying. It was a T3/T4 50 trim with journal bearings and oil feed, no water cooling. Might even have a pic.....
I know it's a Sentra, but a 2.5L Boosted 6 spd with LSD was just waaaaaaaaaay fun and a kick ass sleeper. Pissed a lot of guys off with this car as I blew their doors off, lol.Last edited by Voodoo_ChildR32; 09-02-2011, 01:17 AM.1989 R32 Skyline GTR SOLD!!!!

we used godspeed everything to turbo buddies accord H22a motor. Only running 8psi works like a dream. Been 2 or 3 summers now problem free. Never used one in a high boost application but i would tend to agree as a stock replacement its fine but for a power build go brand name

I got a turbo from a company called WayStar Racing. It's a direct bolt on turbo (dump pipe is same flange as rb20/25 and it uses oem oil and water lines) with internal wastegate set at 7psi. Cost around $500 for the turbo and even though I haven't had a chance to use it yet as I'm still waiting on a manifold gasket, my installer said its a good quality turbo and is balanced properly. If anybody is looking for a cheap turbo I'd recommend one of these. Supports around 450hp and even has a 6 month warranty. Here's a link to ebay if anybody wants to scope one.
I saw these on ebay and thought they were **** at first, but then I saw the site, "skyline-owners-forum.com" and one of the authorized traders on there is selling these as well. There are quite a few people on there running these and putting down around 400whp on rb20s and rb25s. Just my .02

And I just found this deal for around $650 shipped to Canada too, wish I would have seen it when I grabbed my turbo as it woulda only been $15 bucks more to add a low mount manifold. But for $650ish you get the same turbo but with a split dump pipe, low mount manifold and all the gaskets. I don't think this one includes the 3" intake pipe which you need though.

ya one thing personally i would never run from ebay is a turbo manifold.I've just heard nightmares about them. Couple guys on integra forums i used to be on they would complain like a month after they got the manifold about them cracking . IMO just wait and spend the money once instead of having to buy 3 manifolds in a year.

Cracking can be due to exhaust swinging. Check exhaust mounts (usually need replacing), engine mounts (especially gearbox mount) and fit a flexi joint into front pipe, add bracing / rods to manifold (from head flange to turbo flange). Also could run a mount off engine itself (block) to support the turbo, etc.
Could boost up with stock turbo first. Can get 321rwhp (roughly 386hp at engine) at 10psi with stock RB25DET + boost up mods. If hybrid the stock turbo, over 400hp at engine. For a street car it's more than enough and responsive.
Cherry turbo can make stock turbo into a hybrid turbo -
Hybrid stock turbo uses stock gaskets, etc and looks stock as using stock compressor, exhaust housings.
Or modify the exhaust housing on another cars stock turbo via fitting a T3 flange, custom dumppipe flange, fitting machined stock compressor housing, etc, similar to what's done in link below -
