  • no elec. power?

So I just bought a 1991 skyline GTST 3 days ago. no insurance yet so i haven't taken it out yet.
Today i decided to remove the alarm cause i didn't get a fob for it and i could hear the siren going off very silently.
All wires removed and the black/green and black/white wires put together. so i get it all back together and go to start
it, all dash lights on, interior light on fuel pump kicked in, went to turn it over and nothing......I mean nothing
everything turns off and i can't get anything back on. Key gets locked in ignition, i took that apart and flicked the little
red tab and the key comes out. any help would be great. thanks

the alarm probably drained the battery from running for so long. Just boost it to atleast get the key out of the ignition than if you can get it going drive it around the block a few times so the alternator charges the battery, if that doesn't work I'd re-check the lines you removed.

Also heres the wiring diagram and the workshop manual (not 56k friendly)

    Double track drift, yo.

I was able to get the key out. Battery had a full charge. I checked every wire and found a little black box that said key lock adapter on it? So I removed that and still no elec power. Is there something I need to reset?

So I get out to the garage this am, drinking my coffee looking at my car and I notice that both the new battery terminals that I replaced are painted and I think to myself " elec can't get through that" so I sand off the paint on the inside of the terminals so I get better contact and presto. Everything works.

Wtf NAPA? Why paint the entire terminal? Anyway thanks for everyone's help.

All new batteries come with either paint or a clear varnish that needs to be removed before use, otherwise you get a crappy contact and loads of electrical issues. This also makes your alternator work twice as hard to charge. Glad you got it worked out!
