I'm looking to get a bov for my skyline. I'm wondering if I should. Does it effect performance any? I heard its better for your turbo. I want to get more info on it before I do anything. I have a guy offering me a bov off a 240, I'm wondering if it would fit my car, or if I should even bother. Any info is appreciated!!!

It's the mind that makes the man, not the color of his collar!

If stock BOV leaks a good aftermarket BOV will make a difference with hp, torque throughout powerband and transient response / hp. The increase in hp, torque comes from a leaner A/F ratio (more air entering engine instead of getting diverted back into rubber intake piping infront of turbo).
I would suggest fitting a Synapse BOV, as it releases pressure properly when on boost or slightly offboost (just under 0 on boost gauge) which makes a big difference to pickup when get back onto throttle (transient response / hp). Also can be set to be push type (like factory BOV, if want overboost protection) or pull type (so it won't leak under boost and boost keeps valve inside BOV closed). Also has no diaphram that is affected by engine heat (more for racecars that experience high engine bay temps).

I run the older type Synapse BOV on my car and works the same as on the day it was installed.Last edited by Skym; 04-18-2012, 01:56 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER
