anyone know or have bc racing coilovers for gts? please help

so im in the market to buy coilovers and i want to go low!!! well some of you who have seen my car think im low as it is, but i need to go lower, i even cut my tein coilovers to help. so im either buying PBM or BC Racing....

PBM have re-designed the gts coilovers this year to go lower, so im pretty sure they will do the trick. the rep has reassured me they will go as low as i want them too.

BC Racing, i dont know much about them, i do trust they are a very good product and im not worried about quality, but i am worried about how low they can go.... i see tons and tons of properly stanced cars rocking these coilovers, not skylines ( or gts that is ), but just tons of different cars, and i havnt seen or found anything on gts being slammed on these... can anyone shed some light on this for me?

even if you have some pics of some, or know another member on here. or anything really to get me started to learn. and yes i have tried to talk to BC but nearly impossible to get a hold of them... ive emailed them many times, even called and left messages and they have never gotten back to me. so i need you guys!!!

The BC racing shock body screws into base of shock, which allows car to have a lower ride height without affecting shock travel (doesn't hit bump stops). Also you need adjustable upper, lower arms from Ikeya or similar with roll centre adjusters on front? lower arms if looking at lowering car so wheels sit on arches.

I think spring rates on red BC racing shocks are around 8kg front, 6kg rear for R32 Skyline (race track spring rates). At least I think they were last time I looked at their Taiwan website.

Damping, rebound is adjustable at top of shock. Also there's red and gold type and I think gold is best for competition use (racecar) due to external resouvoir, etc and red for street use.

Maybe I didn't explain exactly what I was after. But thx skym. Yes they are 8/6 kg, which isnt really stiff more so like medium. If it was choice I'd get 18/16... And I already have adjustable front and rear camber arms... Anyways my question is, does anyone have facts about how low they will bring a gts to the ground?

Oh, my bad.

This is BC reds with 17"x8" Koya Driftteks with 235/40/r17's (from what I understand they are similar to Nismo rims with style) on a 4 door (I assume you have a 4 door) -



Have no idea how low that Skyline is.

i dont think ive ever heard 1 bad thing about BC before... and i see lots of 240's, g35, 350, mazda 3 all properly slammed on these as well. just havnt seen much for the gts.

I think can go lower if used 16" rims (or old school smaller 15"? rims which puts body of car closer to ground). Have seen a very low R32 Skyline on 16 inch rims (so low, wonder how they put car on a hoist), but don't know what they used as far as suspension goes. Also body kit, over fenders can make it look lower. Another mod that is done on Muscle cars, HKS Cyber EVO, etc is to raise chassis rails, custom subframes, etc.

this is how my car is when i have tiny tires on 17's,

and thats how i want to keep it, but with small tires it brings my rim farther away from my fenders, so thicker tire brings the rup to the body, but brings the whole car up...

so bottom line i need something that can go lower then mine because i need to be able to tuck more tired. but thats about 1.5 inch off the ground and was no problem to drive. so thats where my goal is, without cutting springs again ahah.

I see.

I would think you need to measure shocks, springs, etc on your car and compare to coilover suspension in real life (store or similar that sells suspension). Even talking to a racecar engineer might help, as they could suggest something to use.

I have concerns about welds, quality of metal, etc on cheaper suspension when car is lowered. Seen some images where mounts bent like twigs, welds break, etc. I think those area's, valving design, etc is the difference between cheap, expensive suspension.

umm yeah pretty much... bc has finally got back in touch with me, and they might be able to make a couple custom things to try n make them go low, but ill check the stance out for sure!!!!

i hate to suggest this but every thought of just getting bags? youll be able to touch the ground when you want and raise it up to still be driveable when you dont need to be stanced out

to be honest id love some. i dont hate them. umm but their is a certain ( im not sure how to explain this ) thing about coilovers. static fitment you call it. like bags is ballin, but static is like badass. being that low all the time is like yes i am crazy in my head and yes i love it. hahaha. but bags will save your front lip and exhaust dragging i agree. but i have never seen or heard of bags for a skyline. plus you need a tank in the trunk and so froth. seems more work almost.

does that makes sense? but it is a good idea. if it was only show car maybe i would. but not every day.
