  • Upper Control Arms and other Potential Problems

I'm looking at a car that has had new upper control arms and bushings installed because the seller said it had some front end damage. I'm wondering if this car would be a bad buy since I've heard suspension problems due to accidents are almost impossible to fix and the car will never drive properly. If I take the car for a test drive what should I look for knowing its had front end damage? What other potential should I be on the lookout for knowing the car has had front end damage? Anything else I need to know?

OEM front upper control arms are a common issue with R32s. They all blow out eventually.
Take the car to a body shop that fixes frames not just paint, get them too look it over. It might cost sum coin, but its the best thing u could do to protect yourself.

When I got my gtr, had some front end damage, was pretty bad, guess the guy hit a curb, ripped the whole knuckle off, snapped the front axle, snapped the steering rack right in half, must have hit pretty hard, I bought a parts car for 1000 bucks(was pretty much a rolling shell)swapped the whole front corner and steering rack, not the subframe, got it aligned without any issues. Parted out the rest of the parts car and made some good coin off it, and didn't cost me anything to fix my car.

Bring the car to a body shop as was mentioned above. Get them to check the frame and have them measure the front end. If it passes an alignment and everything measures out you shouldn't have any problems. If it doesn't pass alignment but measurements are spot on, suspension is damaged somewhere and you'll need to replace a few components.
