Shifter compatibility

I bought a shifter off a member here and he stated it would fit a RB20DET tranny. The bottom part, is it called the striker arm is too long. Does anyone have an idea what this shifter will fit?

are you sure its to long? it looks good to me

Yea, I could not fit the retaining clip in, the package was sticking up just a little too far. When I laid the shifter beside the original you could see it was a bit longer.

if it's longer it's because it's short throw, you need the A/M solid collar which your shifter drops on (which in your picture you don't seem to have)

Dang it, I have tried to contact seller to see what he says, oh well, live and learn.

ya there is a metal retainer that goes over top and clamps to the tranny... thats the piece you are missing
