i dont mean to sound too mean here steve323 but....
look at your car bro' ...its trashed!
and to have the grille simply removed instead of spending some money on it just tells me your either to cheap to buy one, or just dont care about your Skyline really?
i value my car no matter what it is, i spend the money not only to make it look good, but also unique in my own taste. Example being where i live i think there are only like 3-4 Skylines total, so for me to have the Seibon CF vented hood, coilover suspension, open mouth grille etc for the exterior is sleek. Then ill be gutting the interior and going with a black with red stitching scheme, white face guages and whatever else i throw at it. In the end my Skyline will be absolutely gorgeous!!

everyone has their own tastes, i would rather spend money on power, footwork, tires, and other functional things, than looks, once i feel the need to upgrade looks then i will see to it, but for now, like i said, i spend my money on functionality, hence why im trading the massive wing i got.
my suspension is going to be the first thing to get finished being built, after im done all the suspension and footwork, then i will move to the engine, probably an rb25 with rb26 rods crank and pistons, and then once i have the engine build how i want, ill make the car look pretty, but this car is to be used for drifting mostly, so whats the point of making it look nice if theres a chance it will just get smacked up, just look at the front bumper.

IMHO, we own skylines. It's not your 92 Ford ranger to trash on.
They are expensive to maintain, so do it right the first time or sell it and get a car where you can cheap out on. The JUN open grill IS expensive for what you get. Like you said, if you value the look, I'm sure you can afford one. (maybe not right away but eventually)
As for the ghetto open grille with cracked bumper look... I'd rather drive a Honda that's been taken care of. I respect your tastes as it is yours, not mine.
my $ 0.02

i really dont understand why everyone puts the skyline on a pedistal, yea, its a wicked car, i love skylines, but i would have been happy with a 180, cefiro, 240, stagea, supra, rx7, lots of cars, i just happened to find a skyline i liked.
a skyline is JUST as expensive to maintan as most other cars that WE would own, not a car your mom would own, but if I were to own another car it would cost the same to maintain, 240, rx7, w/e doesnt matter, the parts are not all that expensive to get because of the popularity of jdm cars nowadays and the **** like oil and fluids are the same price.
we all have our cars for our own reasons, obviously mine isnt for show, but yknow what, if im out there sliding my car and i smack it up and ziptie it together, i wont get bashed as bad as someone who makes a car with 40 dvd screens and painted interiors and all that on a stock motor. i seem to remember someone winning DTP with a car like that http://forums.gtrcanada.com/showthread.php?t=25580

Love the color.
I wanted open mouth, but im just going gtr style the way yours is right now.
As for the other arguments, Steve's car is sexy to me in a whole different way, his has that tied together look that so many japanese drifters have, its a nostalgic look, I like it, it pays hommage to the motherland i guess. I really like it. Whats a GTS-t without a little drift damage? Face it guys, as much as we all baby our cars, thats WHAT THEY WERE MADE FOR! My old black gts-t had different color body panels on it, that car got trashed every single weekend, and it still ran great, rev limiter was home from friday to sunday, and it still started monday morning for work.
:drive:
1991 Skyline Gts-t Black - Crashed,Fixed,Parted. Still out there.
1992 Skyline Gts-t White - Almost ready to abuse.
