I havent dropped the short block and tranny cuz i still dont have my new engine mounts
Once the mounts arrive ill put that stuff back in the car. Anybody here dropped the head in separately? Doesnt seem like it would be too tricky

ahhhh those exhaust manifold studs arent short. they snapped off in the head! the same thing happened to me when i swapped mine. a bolt extractor got them out fairly easily.

Comon ! I had the time to buy 2 skylines and at least 5 other cars before you even took a ride with it ahah. I'm glad to see that I sold my 2 skylines to good owners tho'. If I didn't sold that one to you, it would've been abused and driven like I stole it just like my current skyline

After many moons im back with my car, so I've gotten a bit of work done in the last couple weeks.
Started by hooking up an oil pressure gauge. The car always had one and it lit up but it never read anything. That's because some previous owner just cut the sensor wire short so it was never connected to a sensor. Dumb. Here's where the working gauge sits.


Next I got the rear oil seal changed and the flywheel and clutch thrown on. Machine shop says my head will be ready in a couple weeks...so im dropping in the short block and tranny. Nismo engine mounts arrived, and thanks to a shipping error so did a nismo thermostat. Only paid for OEM, so ill keep this for when I get nistune. Here she sits at the moment


Now. Who knows wtf this is? Looks important.

that bushing thing is your downpipe hanger.

Yup! Attaches to that tranny mount.
Can't believe how much faster it was to get it in than when we took it out. Had a better assistant this time

Oh, and the head was at the machine shop for THREE MONTHS! Turns out they were too lame to find a compatible lifter and couldn't be bothered to call me to ask. 5 minutes on the interweb revealed that Nissan uses the same lifter in the 300zx. At least I got $100 knocked off my bill for my time

Where did you get your pistons from and cuanto?
