Hey Matt Ams puts out some great products. I can vouch the service threw Vuk@Ams and have ordered a set of there brakes/lines/pads. There Z32 maf is new product of there's so I might be hard to get feedback. There's would be a much safer bet then a regular used Z32.
Traction is optional, so are zipties

Make sure it's not a fake Z32 AFM. Nissan logo on housing should tell you that it's a genuine Z32 AFM.

Ya just sent them a message to see if it is the oem equivalent N62. Was also thinking about getting brakes, wideband, fuel pump, and maybe a couple other items from them.

Most of the parts are on the way over, got to work on the head on the weekend( post pics in a couple days). Found two broken exhaust studs, and found that some of the camshaft retainer bolts are seized into the retainer due to buildup. Found a good trick that im gonna try tomorow to get them out, but mananged to destroy the head of one bolt jumping into action instead of going to check the tricks of the trade. Was gonna see if anyone had to buy one and where would you buy one. Help would be appreciated. thanks

excuse my lack of knowledge.. but what the point of getting a upgraded waste gate AND a boost controller? doesn't the boost controller just trick the waste gate to open at a higher boost level? i thought one would get a bigger(or stronger..not sure how they work) to run a higher boost without the boost controller

i said a 2011 5 liter, no your gtst would not smoke it. even the new mustangs v6 has 311 hp with like 300 tourqe.

the new mustang v6 will eat gts for breakfast and give gtr32 a good run.

however they do weigh a lot so once you start upping the gts via weight reduction and little more power, u should be good, until the v6's better gear ratio kills u at the end.

@Bugsly: The 2011 5.0 is underrated. Makes about 440 at the crank. Needless to say, it would destroy a BNR32, stock or mildly modified..

Even the new V6 would be a pretty big challenge for a stock BNR32. I wouldn't underestimate the new Mustangs.

Anyways, besides talking about mustangs, has any one had to locate a camshaft retainer bolt for the rb20.

Finally got a chance to make a update on the build, seeing as this month was busy at work. Started by tearing everthing out to be able to get the head off.

Got the head off with the problems, and only found two broken exhaust studs in the head which came out with ease. There is lots of cleaning to be done in this engine bay as it is very dirty. Thinking about removing A/C and carbon canister. Also got to fix the wiring that is running in every which direction. Trying to go as clean as possible.

There she is just asking for a tear down and a good old scrubbin. lol

All internals out ready to be cleaned.

High pressure varsol with combustion chamber cleaner was the trick. Its always nice having a place to clean stuff when its minus 30 outside.

                            Cleaned vs. Dirty

Now all cleaned and ready for lapping of the valves and seats.

Lapped valve vs Not lapped valve.

Lapping is done now, turned out pretty good. Its hard to see but the intake valves on the left have small pitting around the seats but not worth taking them because to much material will be removed.
Then it was time to send the head for resurfacing because it was low (warped) by 0.14mm in between each cylinder.

Got the head back the same day and cost $105.00 to resurface.
Im thinking about porting and polishing the exhaust ports because the manifold is a bigger port then the head. And its always good to get the exhaust flowing nicely. But thats on hold at the moment cause im seeing if i will be able to do it in time before the tune date. Would be worth it though.

Ohhhhh it looks like santa came early this year.

Thought i would get a rough idea of what i was doing for the turbo set up.

                                Stock turbo vs gt3071r

Gonna dress the turbo up with a turbine heat blanket, heat wrap the manifold and down pipe, Earls fittings and steel braided lines. Also gonna fab up a bracket from the head to the turbo to give it support and so the manifold dont crack on me with the weight of the turbo.

Look at the tight clearance, allthough there is no manifold gasket there. Wont make much more of a difference. Just barely
Thats it for now. Head should be thrown back together soon and then lots of scrubbing in the engine bay.
