  • R334 questions

    Hey guys,

Really throwing the idea around of doing an R334 front conversion on my car right now but I have a few questions.

my car: 1993 Skyline GTS-T Zenki series 1

I want to know two things mainly, I know i'll have to change out the entire front slam panel/rad support etc, I want to know if this bolts apart or do I need to cut it and then weld the new one in?

second question is will a R34 GT-R front fit on my R33 GTS-T? or would I only be able to do a R34 GT-T?

    Thank you

For this you will have to drill out old rad support and install new ones

R34 GTR front should work. You will best off getting a nose cut. This will have all the parts you need. However, if you want OEM look/strength I would recommend using R33 GTR Fenders then cut it to accept R34 GTR fenders (will cost $$$ but worth it in the end)

Do a search I remember the guy back east did his this way and it looked great too!

The first skyline R334 in montreal, QC, built with oem NISSAN parts !!! R33 GTST with full aluminum R34 GTR 2001 front clip. rb25det serie 2 with R34 neo tur...

Pay attention to his front fender wheel arches (he kept the ones from R34GTR)

      Thanks for the reply

"However, if you want OEM look/strength "

what do you mean look/strength? Arent' the fenders taht come with the nosecut OEM? and yes of course I'd be getting a full nosecut, do you have any recommendations on places to go and what prices would be like? I have found a few gt-t ones in calgary but I think i'd like to go GT-R

Well my last contact from Malaysia had the last URAS R334 conversion fenders it look great but still fiberglass.

OEM GTR ones are aluminium = better strength than fiberglass

Oh yes ok, well I was running fibreglass fenders anyways on my R33 so pretty sure I won't notice a difference. So you're saying the R34 GT-R ones that would come with a Nosecut would be fibreglass?

No dude, R34 GTR fenders are aluminium. All GTRs are!

            GTT's are steel

I know in BC, Charles (C-UNIT) did one too!

I don't know how much it cost him. But $$$ for sure

Richard B. did one also, but I have not asked him its status!

                get r33 gtr front fenders
cut fender in half and merry up other half of r34 front fenders

all GTR fenders are aluminum, a higher quality metal
our gtst fenders are ok but not as strong
if you have fiberglass fenders now id say sell them and get gtr fenders
its a pricy project but worth it
there is a blue g334 on here, cant remember who's it is. Vlad? From a shop in the GTA also
im sure they will chime in
gorgeous conversion tho, very clean and well done
                R33 GTST RB25DET series 1

k i'm extremely confused.... if i buy a nosecut it comes with fenders you guys, if it's a GTR nosecut it will come with aluminum fenders from R34 GT-R... whats the problem lol....

The fenders it comes with you won't be able to use because they are for the 34. So you either cut them in half and mate them with another aluminum pair of r33 gtr fenders, or buy the fiberglass conversion fenders. The necessities from the nose cut are the rad support, headlights, and bumper essentially.

Yea...can't see why you would need to cut apart the fenders if you get a full front cut, I'm sure you can mod the attachment points on the R33 to accept the R34 fenders. I would cut and paste that stuff (that you won't see) than to try and get the fenders to look right. Cutting up fenders just has fail written all over it.

Unless you are talking about the rear of the fenders where they mate to the door, is it that much different?

Most people do hack up two sets of fenders in order to retain the R34 GTR wheel arches..

the r334 conversion done on here was a gtst by pur auto. Apparently pur auto has shut down and is called something else so i'm not sure that account visits tihs forum anymore. i havn't seen any posts by it in a really long time(i don't know who actually ran it). If vlad was the one who ran it surely he would have answered the question about his side skirts in the discussion portion of this forum that was up a couple weeks ago?
I would assume a gtst is going to be a different conversion than your gtr will be, but there should be similarities. You could try seeking them out for information on it.

This just sounds like one massive headache to be completely honest with you... I might just fix my **** then, I didn't really think it was a huge deal but it's sounding more and more like it is... hacking up two different fenders together? that really has fail written all over it like the previous guy said.. I don't like that idea at all lol

I heard that URAS made some custom ones but I can't seem to find them ANYWHERE anymore.
