Hey everyone, new to the jdm/skyline scene. Ever since i knew what a skyline was i wanted one. From video games to reading up about them as much i could on the internet. Was looking at getting a s14 but i realized i might as just just jump into it not slip in. I moved here from Mississauga Ontario where i had a 2001 VW GTI, and an Audi S4. Sold the S4 to buy a ticket and move out to Calgary and continue my career as a welder.
First Car
Anyways im starting this to hopefully get some helpful tips on my build. I bought myself a 91 GTST, shes a little rough around the edges but i couldnt be happier. I was told that i am the 3rd owner of it. 190xxxkm on the body and 80xxxkm on the engine. Its a stock Rb20det with a few bolts on: Meagan racing exhaust, BOV, and mushroom filter. The previous owner had installed a oil pressure, a/f, and boost gauge, meagan racing carbon fiber spoiler ( was removed the second day on owning), carbon fiber hood ( looking for stock gtst or gtr hood), shitty double din deck, and some rims. The car is a little rough but he needed it gone and i got it for a decent price. Like i said the car was a little rough when i bought it but from my basic knowledge of tools, cars and how to work google i was sure i could fix the minor issues.
When i went to go look at the car he had told me the two issues that he was aware of, it had some leaky injectors and the drivers side window didnt move. I want to do a neo swap this winter so i didnt want to get any sort of upgraded injectors and luckiy i went to JDMtuners and he pulled some out of a rb20. I had never changed injectors before on a car so it was a good first experience and with the help of one of Austalian skyline sites i had it done in a few hours.
My next issue was the window, after doing some reading i fought out the that silvia door motor was the same, back to jdmtuners and grabbed on, had a hell of the time getting the old one out since window was dropping down. After a beer, a little blood, and some swearing i managed to get the motor out and put the silvia one in. it wasnt a perfect fit but i made it work. Found out the other day that the motor was fine it was the relay that was giving me problems so i had all the contacts re-soldered.
So now as she sits i feel like shes quick but needs more power. I wasnt expecting it to be S4 fast but i enjoy driving it and taking corners alot more with the rwd. Like i said im looking into doing a neo swap this year, any imput or other ideas would be great. Not looking for crazy power but 350WHP is my goal. I have a buddy back home that has a gt30, 550cc injectors, a tune, and probably some other goodies in his r32 rb25 drift car and hes making 383 to the wheels. Along with speed i would like to play with the suspension, hicas delete and some coilovers. I will add some pictures as soon as i can!
