1993 R33 GTST Front Struts

Hey guys ,
new to the Form and i apologize if im out of line on anything
wondering if anyone can help me out on this .. i bought some OEM struts to replace my Coil overs as they are being rebuilt but the OEM ones are 4-5" larger than what was on the car.
there is no way these suckers are going in, is it possible there are multiple measurements for front struts? as well will a 300zx front struts be a direct replacement?

Is it a case of just needing to use spring compressor to shorten them during installation?

No i tried that the bottom mounting hole is still 4" to long , i googled the part number and it came up as a r34 sedan spec so i suspect thats my issue
