  • Nismo solid vs. oem shifter

I just bought a nismo solid shifter off a member and comparing it to the stock one it looks exactly the same, angles and everything. Has anyone compared and seen any major difference?

Yeah it is only a 10% difference, but how would they be identical?

SOLID shifter only difference is the bushings, making it feel more SOLID. It would look identical.

Short throw shifter is something like 35% shorter throws achieved through the pivot point to bottom being shorter. I believe.

Bingo! The "Solid" Shifter gives you more of a stiff solid throw, it isn't meant to create a shorter throw.

If your looking for a shorter throw, i believe C's short throw shifter is the way to go from Nengun Performance

I hate most of those crappy short throw shifters. HATE HATE HATE. Only ones I did like were the B&M shifters. RB20/25/26 are different from each other. So if anyone does purchase one, make sure the company has different part numbers for all three transmissions. If they dont, then stay away. They prob dont know whats up? :P

I like the stock throw and the solid bushing. Anyone know if you can just buy the bushing and replace the stupid plastic piece? Im unlucky with those things. Half the cars I bought had the plastic piece busted off. lol. People either need to learn to shift or those plastic nubs are a pos.

I have the Nismo solid shift. It's a more raw feel, and slightly shorter, about 10%. I recommend it if you are interested in a bit more of a direct feel.

my personal opinion ..i would much rather have the solid shifter then a short throw, i personally hate short throw's ...at the track drifting time trials i dont like the feel at all the be completely honest.i guess i would have to get use to it but ripping i hate short throw's. personal opinion i know alot of people love them
