  • Exedy Clutches?

My clutch is starting to slip, so I'm trying to find a new one. Ive read that 90-96 300zx N/A are compatible with the rb20. Now I found a few, one is ATC/ACT? And there area few versions, 6 puck 4 puck and single disk. What is the best kind for street use. I plan to have a bit more power soon, but I dont have high HP dreams like everyone here. I'm realistic... at most 350ish max.

The ACT cluches range from 350-450$, and the Exedy cluches are less than 200 with the thowout bearing. Are they cheap and not worth it?

School me on clutches please and thank you.

Nismo, Excedy = same clutch. Most like Nismo / Excedy clutches. Nismo set the clutches up to their spec.

I would suggest you read ACT website, as there are spring hub clutch disc (easier on gearbox and quieter, quicker engagement), solid hub clutch disc (hard on gearboxes, harsh engagement, chatter), puk and fullface clutches, etc -

Some of the clutches they list show the best of both worlds.

A good clutch would have kevlar compound on the pucks or face of clutch disc and have a good pressure plate. Cheap clutches don't and can slip.

For replacement flywheel (if factory flywheel can't be machined / skimmed because it will affect strength), I would buy the Nismo flywheel, as is the perfect weight (lighter than stock but not too light). Extremely light is not always better with flywheels.
