Roughly 7-8psi for stock RB20DET. Boost level varies from car to car.

The power outputs at factory are said to vary by as much as 10kw from highest to lowest.

11-12psi is with intake and exhaust. Lowest reading of 11psi can be due to a leaking BOV or restrictive exhaust, etc.

Keep in mind as well that your boost pressures will vary depending on your location too. You'll get higher boost pressures the closer you are to sea level, and the higher up, the lower your pressures will be.

        reset?

With aftermarket exhaust etc.. should you reset your ecu?:hit newb:

on the RB25DET Fuel management is needed i believe because at 12 PSI is max limit before the ECU says enough thinking its seeing to much boost. So to pass 12 PSI youll need to modify the limiters (fuel, air...) by means of something like Emanage in the least.

          so ive been told^

I think sea level is 1 bar = 14.7 psi. Some that are above sea level use 1 bar = 14.5 psi. That 12 psi is at sea level with intake, exhaust, BOV mods.

12 psi for R32 ECU (RB20DET) with stock ECU tuning.

10-11psi with R33 ECU (RB25DET) with stock ECU tuning.

Need to retune ECU when fitting bigger injectors, etc. If you don't retune ECU with bigger injectors, engine can run rich.

Also I think that boost pressure in the manual refers to the max boost for actuator. The boost pressure I am talking about is at the intake manifold.

i just installed my downpipe with wideband and it seems as if i am running 11psi now, but damn does it haul ass. cant wait to get my FMIC on, only bad thing is that i seem to be running at around 13:1, and sometimes a bit higher as well.

Without an eelectornic boost controller you will be boosting approx 7 psi (stock boost on a gts-t). On the other hand with a boost conroller that regulates the stock wastegate you can push close to 15 psi or 1 bar depending onthe controller, some alow you more boost some allow you less boost. Stock internals dont take much more abuse than 15 psi, although i have a fmic as well so that might increase the amount of boost i can push due to cooling and not frying my internals, so maybe like 12 psi without a fmic...but not sure on that...

Its debateable what the wastegate is set to on an rb20. Some people say it is 7, in my experience its closer to 11. I have seen many stock gts-t run 11 psi with no boost controller.

But like I said its debateable

i WAS running 10psi before i had my downpipe installed, but im running 11psi now with it installed. with all the back pressure of the stock equipment, it might be around 7psi, but i dont think alot of people had bone stock gts-t's and installed an aftermarket boost gauge before they modded it.

i still have a hard time believing the RB20's were that high man?
my RB25DET is @ 10 PSI because i have a boost contoller to set it that high for now. Without it its at 8 PSI?

                    hmmm?

Don't forget, the RB25DET is dsigned to work with the factory 2 stage boost controller that adds 2psi at 4500 rpm. Obviously you loose that when you swap into an R32... So the 8 that you see, plus 2 is 10....

actually...the solenoids were binned and a vacuum line straight from the charge pipe to the actuator were connected. So the +2 boost was never on my Skyline when i got it.

I think some with R33 earth? that solenoid to get same boost level throughout.

At the intake manifold (where a boost gauge is plumbed in), I think it should be around 6-7psi for stock RB25DET. That's with stock exhaust, stock airbox.

Podfilter, 3" exhaust (without a catylitic convertor) should add around 4.41psi.

                          So with Podfilter, 3" exhaust (without a catylitic convertor) RB25DET = 10.41-11.41psi

Catylitic convertor could make boost drop. Maybe it's the reason why you guys have lower boost levels???

                            still makes no sense man?

i have 3" Catback exhaust, DeCat, Muffler (3"IN/4"OUT), Pod filter, boost controller and still like i mentioned...10 PSI.

before my boost controller read 8 PSI?
