No, internally the JUN and Greddy pumps are not identical. The housings are externally(minus caps), but the jun has some different machining within. JUN also does their gear sets in house, so as jd74 was saying, the gears cannot be the same.

Not to say you can't break a JUN pump though as there is picture proof of them breaking before. Unfortunately the circumstances don't lead to engine related failure but more so a bad run or someone hammering on the crank pulley or using an impact gun.

The oem pump and n1 pump will both take over 8000 rpm, 9100 for sustained for 40 seconds at the minimum. The key is to remove the harmonics the rotating assembly creates and not hit any hard cut limiter you find in most EMS's.

No oil pump is without failure, but you can certainly remove your chances of failure by selecting a pump for your setup. Could greddy be buying JUN's seconds? maybe. Either way, it is not rpm directly that causes rb pump failures. That is until you reach the 10k mark.
I bought 4 jun pumps back when the dollar was strong, used two myself, one currently on a break in and two i sold to the usa. If you swindle a deal with JUN you can get them for 78,400 yen but it may require a business license on your part.
