  • top mount manifold?

Hey guys im looking to do a turbo upgrade(either gt2860r or gt2871r not to sure) and im wanting to do a topmount. What company makes a good topmount to fit a t25 flange for a rb20. And i see most manifolds have a external wastegate fitting on it...will i be able to block that off if a run a internal?

    Thanks Kyle

i would just get a flange adapter

but other than that i think it would have to be a custom made, all i know that makes manifolds for our cars are turbo XS, autobahn88 i think and some ebay brand which i care to forget. ssautochrome i think?

I think those all come from the same factory in China.

If you choose to go that route, brace brace and brace, and prepare for cracks.

      Or get a 6boost

i've only heard great things about the exoticspeed one. They told me it was discontinued for a while but that was a long time ago.

Friend just went top mount and even one specified for the RB20 needed modification to fit, and plumbing to the down pipe. Keep in mind you'll have to change you're IC piping as well, so make sure you have a budget with some wiggle room.

Not sure off the top of my head, but I would imagine most top mounts are the same.

The turbo sits higher, which is what you pay for of course, and that means your existing turbo elbow is not only too short, but the angle is bad on it as well. Depending on how big of a turbo you go you would have to get further modification done so it fits fully; he went gt3071 and it barely fit without further modification (other than welding on a new flange).

I believe it looks like this:

So it's very similar to the SSAutoChrome.

this design makes the turbo sit further back to allow me to fit my intake pipes in.

I have debadged it as it's seen a die grinder for 3 hours, removed turbo inlet flange and re-adjusted size and angle, wastegate flange has also been chopped, then adjusted.

Don't expect a lower cost product to fit straight onto the car like OEM. It will need some more coinage to make it worth something. (clean up welds, fitment, etc)
