dont block off both its not good for your turbo you will get waste gate surge that way and its hard on your turbo.

block off the stock bov and your good

ive ran no blow off after going through 2 different ones and a stock modified with 14-15psi on stock RB20 turbo for a few months now and the shaft play is still tight.

i think it is a myth about it screwing up your turbo, and i dont find it to have much difference from a BPV or BPv response wise.

most big turbos can take the flutter, the shafts are so beefy and if you got a big enough one it will keep holding the boost while you shift.

the type of surge that is most damaging is when a turbo pushes more air than the intake mani/ head can take and then will pressurize the piping and start to stop the compressor from turning.
i vote no BOV not only that you get the cool fluttering sound

I've been getting a ton of flutter "dump" with the atmo bov removed.. Running the stock RECIRC right now and ya, like i said, it flutters like crazy.. I've taken it off to make sure it's not seized, everything looks fine. Not sure what to think as i bought the car with both installed so i have no real comparison.

Sounds epic though, not to mention accel between shifts has increased dramatically.

Pull stock BOV off and look at the underside of stock BOV. See if the small diameter boost feed hole next to main valve is blocked. If so, that's the problem. The boost feed makes stock BOV react quicker by helping to open valve and gets rid of flutter sound. Flutter sound is BOV not venting air fully due to valve on stock BOV not opening quick enough, which is causing compressor surge sound from turbo (air reversing direction when throttle body shuts and air hitting compressor blade thus slowing turbo down).

You won't notice the damage to turbo until a while down the track, as not having a BOV shortens lifespan of stock ballbearing turbo. If you thrash car, would fail alot sooner with ballbearing turbo. Non ballbearing turbo (as fitted on RB20DET in Nissan Cefiro) can run without a BOV.
