    Hey guys,

So i have a 1990 Gts-t type m. I changed the fuel filter, air filter, oil, collant flush, clean mass air flow sensor. I have weird hesitation at high rpm. The car pulls very strong to 4000 then has like almost like a cut. i wa thinking maybe bad air to fuel ration but doubt it. i then check the tps it seems to be fine. . I asked my dad who is a mechanic to take a look at it. he said maybe the pulgs? Oh i also reset the ecu and nothing changed. the funny thing is it only has the hesitation at high rpms and at varaible times sometimes it does do it some times it doesn't I was wondering if anybody else has had thi problem besides what i can find in old threads.?

    thanks

    Paul

Also does anyone know how to turn the ecu off diagnostic mode. I know you turn it clock wise all the way with ignition on then turn it back couterclockwise to enter diagnostic mode. However after i do this how do i return the ecu to operating mode?

please help so confused and i can't find out how to set it back to normal in any of the threads.

hey, just a quick question So i'm trying to sort out my boost issues on my not dead anymore turbo. Tightened up all the leaks that were preventing me from hitting full boost. right now its sitting around 16psi and but is running a little rich. fairly actually. about 10.2 average at WOT. however, when i go WOT i start to

      counterclockwise=off, clockwise=diagnostic on

if you have a lab scope or automotive 2 channel scope, (snap on mt2000, mac advatange, etc) check the output from the igniter pack at the back of the cyl. head, you will get a sparatic waveform on the graph of the scope if the ignitor has messed up, the ignitor wafer board gets corroded and warped after many years of temperature change that will cause the sparatic miss at 4000-4500.

what are your plugs gapped at? try gap of .8

Je parle Francais aussi. Well I have decided to sell my car and move on. I was one of the first to import the skyline by myself, I owned this car for 2 1/2 years. I babied and took care of it. Never had any problem whatsover. This car is very reliable. I'm the only one in Canada that did the HID retrofit using E46 Bmw

a good thread that hopefully will help you out

Miss at higher rpm's, boost levels is usually sparkplug gap related.

Also what was used to clean MAF with, hope it wasn't carb cleaner that supposedly damages, etc the MAF sensor. It should be done with proper MAF cleaner -

I agree with GTR_mike, ignition module circuit board can get corroded, etc. Some claim they can pull apart and clean / restore ignition module circuit board if it's corroded.

your ignition timing could be off or the tps may be misadjusted.

Hey guys thanks for the help.

I used MAF cleaner that i bought at auto value and i made sure it was cold before i cleaned it. And i have no ideas about the spark plug gaps i will take a look at them asap.

                    Hey guys,

So i forgot to mention that i have an old apexi AVCR in the car that i removed and bridge connections so that ecu would run of stock maps. It came with the car from Japan. Would they tune the ecu with and install of this. there is no boost controller or ever was? Also i check the plugs and coil packs and everything is up to par.

The AVCR is a boost controller...

Depending on the boost it was set to run, your maps might or might not have been retuned.

Removing it wont change anything with your maps, because it's just a boost controller, but did you remove the solenoid aswell, or just the controller?
