  • What Intake/Air Filter (R33 GTS-T)

    Hey,

I was wondering what intakes and filters other people have put on their RB25DET and whether any are significantly better than others. I'm looking to put a new intake on but tbh I'm still in the learning phase so any help is welcome.

    Thanks

Yeah? I heard they were good. I had a K&N filter in my old MX-6 but I didn't like it very much so I didn't want to go that way with the R33. Did you use a kit or just do a replacement on the filter? (n00b here lol)

I bought a kit from a member here for a sweet deal. However, the filter somewhat needs to be replace.

Sponsors from this forum sells kits at reasonable price. What I like about it is its low key on low RPM and sounds sweet on high revving.

contact them for most up to date pricing..

Sweet. That's way less than I expected. I'll definitely hit that up. Thanks for the info.

We sell a wide variety of intakes such as Apexi, HKS, Blitz, Gruppe M, Trust, HPI etc.
I personally use the M's/K&N intakes, and they are great. Apexi is another great choice as well. The Apexi is fairly cheap, and the performance is rated very highly, best filtration and flow in third party tests. The replacement filters are a bit more expensive than the HKS/Trust filter sheets, but worth it in the long run.
We sell the Apexi for 9,450 JPY, and it is also one of the cheapest kits out there.

I've had 2x Apexi podfilters (change them when they get really dusty) and intake pipes, MAF are clean and so far problem free. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another Apexi airfilter, as they are cheap (replacement type is cheap, but has no mounting bracket that full kit does), good at filtering air.

I do hear a little bit of whistling / sucking sound from Apexi podfilter under light throttle, but otherwise it's very quiet. You can hear the same whistling / sucking sound when you put your ear close to podfilter (louder) when engine is at idle. Or can hear whistling / sucking sound when standing next to engine bay with bonnet / hood closed and engine is idling. I like the sound it makes.

3A Racing filter, it's $35 AUD, but shipping from Australia may bump the price up. I absolutely love the filter, some test was supposedly done, and it had the best air flow out of 10 filters, and rated 2nd in filtration testing, being beaten by K&N. It's a dry filter.
