  • Winter build = Car probably won't move.. Nistune mapping?

Well it sure has been a while since i've posted anything serious on GTRC so i thought i'd get ahead of myself and make sure my spring ISN'T an epic fail..

So this winter, slowly but surely, i've managed to compile all (well.. Most) of my parts..

Last on my list was obvious - Dyno time and a proper tune..

Nistune was my primary choice, due to cost and depth of my build, haltech or anything else was looking too extreme..

So, my issue is this; besides having installed GTR injectors, FMIC, GTR fuel pump, Z32 maf, and other usual GTSt goodies, i pulled my hicas lines and rerouted the fittings to avoid pulling the hicas fins however i need to bleed the PS pump properly before leaving the car running too long and ending up with a shot PS pump..

HOWEVER! I highly doubt that after all these modifications, my ECU will be able to account for the changes made; if i order nistune (from Ztunes epic GB), will i be able to perform a remap in situ and get the car running before fine tuning via dyno?

I have a wideband, so monitoring afr's is no biggy (even though i believe nistune monitor's this as well via the ecu?)..

I asked Klys, because i remember him telling me he can street tune cars no prob, and i can get my hands on a dyno for him, but im more or less worried about getting the car running FIRST to make sure nothing is leaking etc, before hauling it to the Dyno 40 km's on a flatbed..

    Any ideas?

Any pre-formed maps online that can account for these pretty "standard" GTST mods that can at least get it running relatively stable before performing any mapping mods?

    Thanks guys!

Don't think she'll run. AFR's are gonna be so out of whack, plus the readings from the 32 Maf are gonna be off the charts..

Nistune is capable of reading my 550cc injectors, Q45 90mm MAF, 90mm TB and front facing plenum with a top mount GT3071R.

It will be able to handle those mods you posted with a great, reliable and affordable result. It should be able to be put on a baseline, matching the injector size and MAF (roughly) then run the car on a limp-ish mode to dyno.

Thanks bud! That's exactly what i was hoping to hear!

Are their maps for this particular ROM in a general, "premade" format - for those bike guys out there, something like a map for a Power Commander 3 mapping unit? Basically a single file that encompasses a general map for a certain altitude and supporting mods until it can be custom mapped on a dyno? Or does it go into a self learn mode once the car is one to 'just' run or get by?

          Thanks for the help guys.

Your mods aren't too extensive. It would be easy in Nistune to make the adjustments for the added fuel and maf.

No no that's exactly what i thought.
Namely, i was wondering if my car would run WITHOUT the board / map, and would be driveable to the dyno, but like i assumed, it most definitely wont be!

              Thanks guys!
