  • Dumb question...

My little like motorcycle battery has finally died (The stock one from Japan).
What size / type / crank of battery do I need that will fit in a GTS-t nicely.

depends what use your car for.
do u plan on driving it in cold/winter temperatures?
do u runn a lot of thing on ur car that would rob amps? (ie . large complicated audio set up or 1000 guages and other monitoring devices etc)

in my car ( non winter driven , with not real need for a large amp output) i have a OCV of 13.1 volts and 450CCA / 575MCA

^ grab a red or yellow top optima and it'll slide in their pretty much perfectly. Changing the connectors is a cinch too.

Honestly i just took a tape measure with me to Costco, after I measured the spot in the car. If it didnt fit you have the your reciet and take it back.

you may have to change the terminal connectors on the car as the Jap batteries have smaller diameter terminals than the ones sold here

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. What's a good way to strap down a bigger battery in there?

i just went in to autozone and asked for their most narrow battery with a decent cranking amp, came out with a good battery for 90 bucks. just remember you'll have to switch the terminal clamps, since the terminals on the midget batteries are a lot smaller than most you can get.
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

I didnt need to change the terinals at all. Just bent them open, shoved a screw driver in teh holes where the bolts were and bent it over the connectors haha. Bought some random bolts at home depot and clamped those stuckers down. The only problem was anchoring it. Had to use 4 small bungie cords, but it worked out well and it's not moving.
