  • TB vacum lines

hey im putting my TB back on and i completely forgot where the vacuum lines that run in to it go to i have a different plenum so im unsure of where their supposed to run to , if any one with a stock RB20 plenum set up could let me know that would be ace , thanks .

Isnt there only 1 vac line off the RB20 TB? Goes to the BOV vac draw.

The other 2 arent vac lines, rather for coolant. It's a warm-up setup for the TB for cold temp starts.. Not necessary and can be by-passed.

the two nippes on the bottom of the t/b are ment for coolant to run thru, dont hook them up

ok yeah i figured that much out , im still baffled as to where that smallass line runs to though , does it go into the intake plenum and then feeds to the recirc?

EDIT : so the line runs from the small nipple on the TB ( one with the hose attached)

to the small nipple on the recirc ?

the small hose is attached to the purge for the charcoal cannister. you can plug it if you have removed the cannister. if not you need to run a line over to it. but imo i would just plug it. if it idles weird then you may have to T' it into a vaccum line, im not sure if it has soething to do with idle, since there is a small hole on the oter side of the throttle plate.

              ohh that explains it !
              thanks alot .

so does any one know if can eliminate the coolant lines?or at least loop them?
cause from what i gather there's a line going from the fire wall through the TB into another line that goes into the plenum ( but does not catch any vacuum obv) then out to another line that disappears some where , so could i just connect the line that goes under the intake manifold straight to the line that goes into the fire wall? does that make sense?

                BUMP

k so im opting to eliminate the coolant flow thing, so i know ( on a stock set up) the left side - if your looking at it from the passenger side- runs into the plenum where it runs down and under the manifold , where does the right side run to?

IIRC the coolant line makes a loop under the manifold, i think the ones side connects to the thermostat housing and then the other is the return from the heater core. i can double check for you tommorow
