  • Odd noise in the dash above 105 km/h

Hey, I'm new to the forums and the skyline community, just bought a '90 GTS-T a couple weeks ago. A couple little things that need to be worked on but overall the engine is strong.

So, when I first drove the car on the highway I noticed that once I hit 105km/h or higher there is a soft kind of "ding dong" from within the dash. It almost reminds me of the sound that some cars make when the keys are in and the door is open, which is what I thought it was at first, but it is not. Also, the higher the speed, the faster the noise is. So I'm thinking it has something to do with the speedo but I'm not sure what it is. Any help or ideas would be great.

There's a speed warning thing under the dash that goes "bing bong" over 105kmh to warn you that you are speeding. I've never actually encountered a skyline that still had one intact. Pretty much all of them have been removed a long time ago... This could mean Nick41's car was driven by someone who didn't beat on it, since that bing bong gets REALLY annoying.

mines still intact, doesnt bother me at all, besides....its good indicator that you are going above that speed if your not paying attention. Either your skyline creeps up to above 105kmh and/or the cops seem to. lol

Yea I'm getting mine out of there in the next couple of days hopefully. It gets really annoying after about five minutes of highway driving so I'll be glad to have it out...
And yea hopefully it means the Japanese owners were good to it. Seems like it so far, the engine is in really good condition.
