  • oil catch can location.

my oil catch can does not have a vent at the top.. only two lines, a drain, and a level tube.
so here is what the setup looked like when i bought the car, one line is going to the top off the engine and conected to both vents. and the other line goes down by the rad to atmosphere.(one end is just capped off).

i have removed the catch can to empty it and give it a good wash, and thought i should change the setup to something like this, useing an elbow of some sort. (excuse the crappy as paint editing..but you will get the idea.)

or is all of this completley useless and either way will work just fine? ..

Your over-thinking it. It will work good the way it is.

There's a few ways to do it. But for your setup, should have one hose from intake camcover breather, one hose from exhaust camcover breather to catchcan. Then one hose to atmosphere from catchcan. Or run a filter on top of catchcan to replace hose to atmosphere.

For example with RB25DET engine and filter on top of catchcan in link below -

and you should have your timing belt cover on to keep small road debry from falling down in and ruining your belts, gears ect.
