  • Rb25det injector problems need help

I have a m30 with a rb25det swap and we used a rb20 ecu and switched the two
injectors. Now we are not getting any injector pulsing, The car runs great with some
gas dumped in it so the timing and spark is good. I was wondering what why to go
about tracking down this problem like what sensor is used to generate the injector
timing, and check and see if its working and down the line from there.

the wiring is a mess but I think its right we had a problem with a ground and burned
the 25 ecu. I fixed the power and ground issue. But im stumped now
Any help would be great I can take photos of anything you would need to see to give
    me a hand!!!!

If some one really helps me get this monster running i would be happy to cnc and fab
up something they would like for your car and send it free.
    thanks a lot!!!!!!!!

Double check your injector wiring that you indeed wired it properly. Soldered and heat shrinked connections.

Also, the cam angle sensor plays a big part in firing the injectors. Take out the CAS, turn the ignition ON and give it a spin with your hand. You should hear the injectors click. A lot of people never think to do this.

    Report back with your results.

do you have to pull it to check we cant hear the injectors firing when it is turning over. if we pull it off do we need to worry about clocking putting it back in? can we turn the motor over and probe it and check a voltage reading?

dose the CAS control spark as well if it dose its working fine the car will run when dripped with gas.

We pulled the CAS and spun it and did not hear any injectors im guessing the signal
gos from the cas to the ecu and then out to the injectors and back for ground.

what would be the rout to narrow this down?

the wiring must be mest up some where is there a good diagram to fallow the cas all the way to the injectors.

did u try checking the ecu for codes? if there are codes u might have an idea what to look for. i doubt it is the cas because u say u have a spark. try checking the fuel pressure just to make sure u have fuel ready to go to the injectors. also what i would do is google a rb25det or rb20det ecu pinout and trace each and every wire for the injectors all the way to the ecu. test them for continuity just to make sure all the wiring is correct. last thing i would try if all the wiring is correct and everything else is fine, is try to get another ecu. Ive had my rb25ecu starting the car fine when its cold and when the car warms up and u shut it off and try starting it again, it would hardly start and only if u give it some throttle. after i swapped ecu's problem is gone. Anyways those are the things i would try. good luck

              Sorry for the late reply,

I would check your CAS. Also injectors will spray fuel when they are grounded. Each one has its own IIRC.

OK we are trying to find out where the gray wire gos off the injectors its not making it to anything it terminates in a plug under that dash. Where would it go on the ecu could it be spliced in to a ground?

Could be your ignitor (the little box-thing sitting at the back of the coil cover) and / or the wiring going to it.
                  RB30DET !
