  • RB20 from a GTS-4. Can I use RB20 GTST Oil Pan for a RWD swap?

    I might be buying a RB20DET motor from a GTS-4.

I plan on putting it into a S13. All i have to do is change oil pans? or what?

I would get the front diff cut off the 4wd pan and have it welded by a reputable shop. The baffling and capacity is much better the the RWD version. As well the lower transmission bell housing bracket is built into the pan.

The AWD pan is really not an option, unless bigblue saw something i didn't.

I used the rb20 pan, holes are there already. You have to modify aka cut out the baffles in the rb20 pan, to fit the 4wd oil pickup which you have to use. (pretty sure that was my method)

Lower bell housing brackets could not be re used because as big blue stated they are built into the pan..

i agree with bigblue. use the 4WD oilpan. you can cut the diff off and spindles and it will slide right in. or should. it worked for me wtih an rb26.

but since its going into an s13 not sure what to tell yah.
