  • HELP! RB20 in limp mode

    Hi Everyone
I have an 1990 gtst type m with an RB20.
I was driving the other day it suddenly went into limp mode...
I checked the ecu for fault codes and I got 11 and 12. I looked them up and its the camshaft position sensor and MAF sensor. Am I just going to need to replace these sensors? Is a z32 maf the best route to go?
Has anyone had these codes and could share some more info
    Thanks
    Grant

Faulty CAS can make engine very hard to start and gets worse over time. Also engine can start randomly stalling when it gets really bad. Replacing CAS with second hand or new CAS fixes problem.

Z32 MAF requires changing settings on ECU, retuning maps on ECU to suit on dyno (Nistune for stock ECU). Easier to replace MAF with another stock MAF than upgrade. When MAF fails and get MAF error code on ECU, engine should idle at 1500rpm when warm (my car did). Also check wiring from ECU to MAF for faults, including MAF plug, where wires can get pulled out of MAF plug.

Please let us know if this fixes your problem. Too many problems are asked and no post saying how it was fixed. Thanks.

did you isolate the problem to the cas or the maf? i am having the same problem with my gtr. limp mode and keeps turning off wont stay alive. my mafs have been replaced and still the same problem. i should really get the codes off my ecu
