  • No brakes!

    i have just taken apart my brakes for inspection, and the pistons are completely stuck. so i figure i will just buy new and possibly upgrade. Does anyone know what breaks off other cars are an exact fit? like if the 300zx are the same? or if you know of any nice kits i can buy. Thanks. Ps: Im not rich! lol

    do the GTR brakes fit on it without modification? or and r33 gts-t or something? if so, does anyone have any?

      If R32 GTS-T Type-M, R32 GTR front calipers, rotors are bolt on (stock front R32 GTS-T calipers are similar to 300ZX and should bolt on). Rear calipers, rotors should be the same as 300ZX, R33 25T, R34 GTT, R32GTR. If calipers, rotors don't fit, changing hubs solves the problem. I think stock 350Z is an option as well, as has been done in Canada on R32 GTS-T.

      R34 GTR front calipers, rotors should fit (they do on R32GTR), but need to drill out mounting holes for calipers on hub side, as from memory Brembo's run different size mounting bolts.

        If the calipers are seized, you can buy a rebuild kit, or even easier, try to free the pistons and see how they react. Take a small C clap and begin thrusting them in, eventually they will pry loose and hopefuly function properly. This happens quite often if the car sits, and more often then not, this works to free them up.

            just for people searching/trouble shooting:
            it ended up being the master cylinder had failed from the fluid never being changed. seals went inside. use mirror to look underneath the brake booster for brake fluid/rust trail.
