  • Tail light dissassembly

    hey guys,

I have an extra set of tail lights here for my r32 gts-t and I got them so i could cut them up a bit and make a dot set.

Essentially what i have to do in winnipeg, is take them apart, cut out the red lenses and silicone trailer lenses from princess auto that are dot to make them pass safety here.

I have the main black plastic off, and the light housing in the back out. but i can't seem to pop the the connected red plastic circles out, or separate the remaining housings any further. If i have to cut into the red plastic the way they are now, it's no big deal im just trying to see if i can strip them down any further.

Anyone else ventured into this? or no any tips for getting something to pop out/off?

    Thanks,

    Anthony

(ps.) please dont tell me "tail lights don't need to be dot" because the inspection officers here in manitoba don't care about how things work in other provinces, they choose to remain stubborn pricks!

I can help you out...I made my car completely dot last fall before selling.

I made the tails look really good, even the signal lenses are dot now.
