  • Cylinder not firing

So my rb20 is only running on 5 cylinders, ive tried everything in regards to spark, ie coil plug ignitor harness, and wire check it all. and still the same problem, the exhaust seems to have more fuel in it them normal, and the plug is soaked in fuel, but my question is, is this because theres no spark or could the injector be the problem, stuck open or something like that, I didnt put any fuel stabalizer in it because normally i start it enough over winter so I dont worry about that but could the fuel have degraded in there and clogged it. The car starts and runs but idles a little rough and shutters as it revs up, but still driveable, I can unplug that coil with no difference in performance.
    Im out of ideas

did you try pulling the plug out and attaching another coil to it ? pull the fuse for your fuel pump (so it wont start) then have someone turn it over while you hold the plug to varify its not firing. Once you have done that pull a different coil off and put the same plug in that coil and try it. If it doest fire its probably the plug, if it does spark its the coil. Just work backwards from the issue. If its soaked in gas its not your injector.

Ive switched coils around already, and the injector could stick open, thus soaking the plug

If you're sure it's not the plug/coil and it's getting spark, the only thing left to check is the injector.

You might want to do a compression test while you're at it and see what that cylinder looks like.

Common for 1x stock injector to fail like that and make engine miss. Grey tracking marks on both sides of coilpack under mounting bracket and soot covered sparkplug tip is coilpack related.
