  • emergency brake light?

so i was redoing the whole interior in my skyline, and just the past couple months my ebrake light stays on the whole time, dont know why, didnt touch any of those wires as far as im concerned, but i was wondering how to turn it off, or which wire to cut if i need to. my hicas light was on too, but i got rid of it taking out the wired from the electronic unic underneath back shelf. so let me know thx.

    pm me please, appreciated.

Check to see if you're low on brake fluid

Did you adjust your ebrake afterwards? Theres an adjustment nut under your hand brake boot and storage console trim.
      Regards,

I agree, low brake fluid can make handbrake light light up. Can be due to leak somewhere (master cylinder, caliper seals, brake hose). On my car there was a leak on front right brake hose due to rock hit it and master cylinder fluid level dropped below a certain level which activated the hand brake light. From what I can remember, had to pump and then press brake pedal hard to find the leak.

It's a good idea to switch to braided brake hoses, even for road use.

If fluid level is normal in brake master cylinder, then adjust handbrake.

alright that actually makes a lot of sense, my ebrake sucks, like the back wheels barely lock up unless its wet outside, and yeah the light used to come on n off radomly, i guess thats the fluid tossing around, makes sense. do i need like specific fluid? or anything recommended?

It says to run DOT 3 for stock car. But when modified, Super Dot 4 with 600+ degrees farenheit boiling point.

Or Motul RBF 660 if you need it -

I run Penrite SIN brake fluid in my car. But the Motul RBF 600 has 2 degrees better dry boiling point. Motul RBF 660 is even better.
