sterio wiring issue

hey guys...tried to put my cd player in today cause when i got my car there was jsut a hole in my dash...i went to canadian tire and bought a plug for a 240 and it has 2 different plugs for the same wires so i tried the first one and all it does is turn on the lights in my gauge cluster even when the key isnt in my ignition...and for some reason it looks like someone tried to add another plug to the car for the sterio out of another car which plugs into the other plug i got from canadian tire..here is some pictures so u know what i mean and what a mess of wires im working with...any help would be much apreciated

dont use the plugs not worth it just search for the wiring color codes and just connect the wires from the deck to the correct wires from the car

thats kinda what im looking to do now cause the plug that is there now like i said only turns on gauge lights when i plug it in

ya the way i said is the way i did it with my dual din and works great no wiring issues and just did that with my buddies s14 silvia yesterday aswell
