no boost + mad backfire.

so my car has pretty much no power.

specs:
rb25 series 2
side intake mani
fmic
rb26 valve covers.

and its stock besides that.



i am getting no power. i got stomped by a stock chrysler 300. turbo feels like it doesnt cut in.

and sometimes it doesnt go past 4500rpm and just flutters and backfires.

now. there is a sensor between the wastegate and hotpipe that i never had hooked up. i have no idea which way it goes either. or what it does.

as long as im running too rich i think im fine as long as this isnt a sign that im running lean.

im about to order an aem wideband to check that. any help would be greatly appreciated

Buddy had a similar problem and his wastegate was semi seized/ not opening properly. Idunno if that will help but something to check.

Also could be the knock ignition map on stock R33 ECU, as it can drop ignition timing to 0 degrees which stops engine accelerating.

Check your MAF conections to. I've heard similar symptoms from faulty/failing MAFs.

This sounds possible. Because my engine does sound like it knocking. Even at idle. How do I fix this?

If making knocking sound from head, sometimes it can be a lifter that has failed or using wrong oil, for example -

Just a noise like that or anything knocking against engine could make ECU switch to knock maps.

found power issue. now need to figure out misfiring idle

just tried it. i have vids too if anyone is interested.

so im just rocking the stock bov and upon first startup it runs awesome and idle is perfect.

then it gets warm and idle goes off and misfires a lil.

i revved it up. omg hella boost outa my bov (that means turbo is fine)
but my bov didnt shut all the way and it was creating a boost leak.

awesome found the issue when driving.


but. after all this i plugged it off (so no leak) and just let it idle. idle was bad and misfiring everywhere. with or without it plugged off..

if the idle changes when warm, it sounds like a air leak to me. my gtr was doing the same thing when I blew the intercooler piping off. it idles great when cold but not when warm.

bov was the only boost leak. maybe clean my spark plugs now?

what about blowing **** out the exhaust? looks like excess carbon.. doesnt get there til its warm.
