  • Water flooding in my R32 footwell?????

    Anyone have this problem?
Driver foot-well flooded with water on a rainy day.
-no holes under the carpet, no rust
-maybe coming in threw the vent that heats the back seat..

I also have problems with my heat always on.
    What do you guys think.

    I'll try to get pictures.

Pull it all apart to get a better look. Take the dash out and see what's up. There might be water coming in from the firewall, maybe a gromet rotted out. Or a myriad of other places.

      thanks
I'll book a day to pull out the dash, I have to do it anyway for the heater.
How long does it take to take the dash out.? (this is my daily driver)

Do you have a sunroof by chance? If so it might be a blocked drain hose!
aww crap, did you see that!

Could be the heater core hoses, they tend to do that. Check to see if it's coolant moreso than water.

Also, i had an issue with the plugs/seal under the wipers. That black trim was letting water into my cabin and running inside..

Easiest way to find the leak is to get in the car with the hose on up there full blast, eventually you'll see the culprit.. IF there's nothing - heater hoses.

You may also want to check the main grommet that passes wires from the cabin to the engine bay. It passes at the bottom right when sitting in the car, and goes to the wheel well. If it's damaged and you dont have your inner fenders, water could be coming through.

That is if you were driving around in the rain. If it flooded while the car was stationary, then this is likely not your issue.

It's the grommet. It fell out after installing my A/F meter.
I may be missing an inner fender,I'll have to look at pictures.
Hope that's it. I'll wait till the next day it rains

                Thanks guys

You could use a garden hose. But Im sure it will rain shortly.

Put a WTB thread in the wtb forum, I'm pretty sure lots of people have dumped their fender liners and will have them sitting around. If not, get in touch with adam from feast auto.
