  • Alternator issue?

Hi! Since I changed my battery terminals, I got a charging problem. Battery gives 12.6v, but when I start the car, it drops to 11.9v. I don't know if I have damaged a wire, but I had to pull them to plug on battery (they are a little bit too short)

I took the voltage at the alternator, same thing ; 11.9v when the car is running and if I un-plug my battery, the car stop.

I also tried to unplug the white/blue wire from its connector near the fuse box, and the voltage grow to 17volts

When I changed the terminals I've removed this connector :

Help me please, I want to use my car!

Today I tried a new 1awg ground cable, but it didn't make any difference

ya, can just use multimeter at the battery to test alternator. with engine off should read 12v obv.. and with it running should read like 13-14v at battery terminals.
if it shows 12v or less while running, it means your alternator isnt working and your battery is slowly dieing

Thats what I would think, but the only thing i've done is changing the battery terminals, I'm pretty sure this can't blow up an alternator...Maybe the removal of this red connector thing? I've read that this could be a fusible link

i know one of the wires feel off and broke off the red connector on my gtr and i had no power to my lights. interior exterior nothing. i had to get the wire resodered.

Problem is that I completely removed the fusible link attached to the positive battery terminal to install my new ones, but if i guess right, all should work, there is no protection for shorts of course (I will put back some fuse or whatever solution I find)

But still, I don't really understand why my battery is not charging anymore
