  • Planning an RB25 Build Need Imput!!

Hey, so i've got an rb25 s1 motor I put in my car a few years back and starting to collect parts for a motor build. So the following list is what i'm thinking and things i need advice on. I'm wanting to make close to 550 to 600whp. I've got all the supporting mods to do it, so time to make the motor make magic.

    Bottom End:
-RB26 Crank polished, balanced, with crank collar. --what crank collar should I use, seen generics on ebay, good
enough or do i really have to spend $250 bucks on a JUN collar? If not where can i get one?

-RB26 87mm Forged Pistons, what brand JE, Wiseco, CP?
In these brands they all come with rings. Is the gap they come with good enough or should they all be set?
If so what should they be set too?

    -ACL race bearings

-RB26 Con rods. Would stock rods with arp bolts be adequate enough for what I want to do or should i be looking
at getting a set of Eagle or Manley Rods? I guess after balancing stock ones i can just buy forged? If so what
    brand?

**** generic question. are forged pistons and rods balanced out of the box or should they go to the machine shop too with the crank? I heard they should be good out of the box but would like input.

-1.2 or 1.5mm oil restrictors and N1 oil pump what size would be best?

-Tomei 1.5mm metal head gasket? or should i stick with a 1.2mm?

-A/M flywheel, advise on best bang for buck and where to buy?

    Head

    -Tomei Pon Cams
-Tomei Type A valve springs (told with these springs and cams the head is good for 8500rpm redline?) Once motor
is done would 8200ish redline be safe?
-Valve Guides? Are they worth doing or stock one good enough?

-machine shop list i'm thinking of. Port and polish head, clean up valve seats/valves, valve seals,

***** So this is my list so far. I know i've got lots covered, basically i need to also know with the power i want to make is this list covering everything? or are there things that i don't really need to do for the numbers i want to hit? Want to do this once and right, but i really don't want to blow the bank real bad at the same time. Any advise would be great!!

    Thanks Brain

also how much does the list change if i decide in the end to stick to a reliable 500whp vs 600whp
