  • Where the heck does this go?

Hey guys in the process of putting my car back together and I've found some stuff that goes somewhere, but heck if I can figure out where. Checked the service manual, but didn't find my answers.
Here's round 1. These were in a bag that I labelled "intake runners." It looks like those 6 o-rings are for the injectors, but im confused by these 3 dowels. 1 is the right size to fit into the runners where they meet the block. But the other 2 are smaller and im confused. Anybody recognize them?

I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

Little rubber grommets go on injectors. The little metal cylinders, are rowels that go in the intake manifold I believe.

Thanks for the confirm on the o rings. The two smaller dowels are too small to go in the two dowel holes from the runners to the head. Other ideas?

I was going to say that those dowels are for the intake plenum aswell. If not the only other ones I know about are the ones from the block that meet the head.. And or the ones that are in the timing belt cover.
Traction is optional, so are zipties

Eh, they don't seem to fit into the timing cover either. They don't fit into any of those holes and the covers don't seem to need them.

Have a look at these pics.. in the first pic (upper intake manifold) see the lower 4 intakes, notice how two of the holes (upper left and lower right) are a larger diameter than the others? that's for two of those inserts

the other two (missing one?) align the lower manifold to the head (See the two larger holes in this pic.. the two non-stud holes on the outer two intake / water line sets..) top row

Id say those are lower injector o-rings, 2 intake dowels, and block to bell housing dowel

andrew_dk, you are my savior. pics are always massively helpful.
I took my manifold and put the 2 small dowels in, fit perfectly. Thanks!
Ill update when I've got another question

Alright, another quick question. This is my big metal plate that goes on the block before you put on the flywheel. Some of the crummy plastic or rubber along the inner edge of it has come off. Is it okay to keep it like that or does theblack plastic serve a real gasket purpose?

Here's another random part I can't seem to identify. Looks like a mini-engine or trans mount, rubber in the center. Anybody know where this goes?

yes thats your rear main seal. it the plastic part of it is cracked or broken you should replace it. try get the part number online and order one from nissan. or buy a engine gasket kit.

as for that braket it looks like a mounting spot for some of your power steering lines, not 100% though
