  • Adjusting Where Clutch Catches

So I recently replaced my clutch master cylinder and all is working fine. The only thing that is bothering me is that the clutch used to engage when the petal was half of the way out. Now the clutch is engaging right at the top, and i'm worried that I might be wearing down my clutch unnecessarily because it is not fully engaging. Is their any way that I could adjust where the clutch petal engages?

Yes there is. There is a bracket attached to the push rod on the clutch master cylinder with threads on it. You have to undo two 13 mill botls in engine bay and pull out clutch master cylinder ( also undo bracket from clutch pedal mechanism within vehicle). The u shaped bracket which attaches to push rod, if you thread this in more you will shorter the thrown of the whole pedal and the engagement point for the cylinder will have less travel in it ie: less fluid movement. If you would like the engagement point to be higher up in the pedal movement unscrew the u shaped bracket more.
