  • R33 diff into R32? Anyone here done it?

Hey guys, this subject seems to have a lot of grey areas online and I can't find a deffinate answer. So I'm wondering has anyone on here done it? If so let mr know what mods have to be done in order to do so or if it's a direct swap Ive got a VLSD from a r33 lined up if so thanks guys

I don't think it will work man. I have to ask why not try and find a aftermarket one? I remember the kaaz and cusco riffs were in the 700-1000$ range and will be brand new. You won't have to replace it for a long time to come!

I would have loved that diff for my car if I was keeping it.

Daryl emailed me back this today :

                    Hi Blake,

We can get the factory Type-M viscous rear diff, it takes a couple months to get in.

Cost is $250-$300 shipped to our shop, you can pick up here, or we can ship to you at cost.

Let me know if you want to grab one.

                    Best Regards,

anyways there is a guy on skylinesaustralia.com who claims to have a R33 diff in a R32 by just switching the back plate and the bolts with bushings. But he doesn't specify whether or not you can use an ABS R33 diff? anyone clarify??

I'm still trying to wrap my head around you not liking a nismo 2 way and paying money to have it taken out of your car...? A 33 diff is going to grab harder than a 32 which it seems you don't like (to my understanding of your post) so why not just get the 32?

ok no this is the problem. When u have a 2 way and u turn tite corners, or almost any corner you get the clunking and shaking of the car. Its annoying. Im not paying a dime. My friend owns a S13 coupe and him and my other friend own a custom fab shop. and I told him if he made me a Custom intake manifold, and intake , new FMIC piping and installed a new diff into my car PLUS paid for my new diff he could have my diff. I told him i wanted 650 for my diff. The manifold costs about 400 in material to make from all aluminum and etc. the intake is going to cost about $50 to make . and the diff is going to be around 200( or so depending on where i can find one) so therefore Im getting the 650.00 PUT into parts for my car and hes getting a 2 way diff he'll be happy with cuz his car is not a daily and he only drives it 2-3 times a week. It unjustified in a street car that i never drift, he drifts all the time. So therefore thats why I am doing it. Sorry for the novel lol

fair enough, stick with the 32, think it will suit you better

ya I found a VLSD from a guy i met through a friend from Toronto for $100.00 hes going to bring it down to me on Oct 30 to Shannonville speedway ! Cant wait I've just always wanted a sick intake manifold, it really makes a engine bay look good and i hate the crossover so here is my chance to have one made to my likings! and i hate the clunking of the 2 way most of the time lol. and its embarrassing while driving people stare and are like " wtf"
