  • help with hicas removal

hey, im removing my rear hiscas on my 91 gts-t and i was just wondering about the lines that get looped together and was wondering if there was anything i needed to do to the pump cause i read at one place that i had to remove fins? in the back of the pump? not really sure about it, any feedback would be appreciated

ya you have to take the pump apart and take the fins out. its 4 screws that hold the two half's together. you'll figer out what the fins are when its open. its obvious.

while on the hicas subject, i was under the car the other day looking at my hicas lockout bar it seems the purpose of the lockout bar is jsut so that the hicas control arms arnt just hanging there. im pretty sure you could just remove the control arms from the knuckle no?

you can buy an rb25 pump and not worry about the back hole

What M13 said, I wouldnt bother with modding you 20 pump. Id buy a non hicas 25 and delete those said lines your going to loop. Once you see the pump you will see what lines u cant delete.

Just did this to my buddies car this weekend, SO much weight savings+ room in engine bay.

Well also on another note, you might want to look into if those fins. I personally wouldnt remove them at all, I cant see why they would be bad.

pretty sure the fins are what hive you youve hicas pressure. work with centrifical force. i removed the fins then capped the hole on the back of the pump. ive drove it since then. works fine.

I have never over heated my pump, and still have my fins in(hicas Deleted) I was thinking that the drop in pressure might affect front rack?

                      Maybe not tho.
