  • Stock Boost Gauge Question

I was driving around town today and noticed that my boost gauge is stock at the 0 bar. When i hit the throttle hard it will rise a little to 1 or 2 bars but when i release the throttle it only goes back down to the 0 bar. The car was running fine yesterday and the gauge was working fine. Can someone please give me some info on what this means? Boost leak maybe? or Vaccuum leak?

Check the box (MAP sensor) that's mounted on firewall infront of driver in engine bay.

MAP sensors are known to get dirty due to oil deposits and malfunction. Most good / expensive boost controllers have filters to stop this from happening.

Thanks, it was the sensor hose, it was cracked and came loose from the coupling on the turbo. Put a new hose on and its good to go now.

Thank you for sharing the solution to the problem.

The box (MAP sensor) should be connected to intake plenum. Sounds like you mean the vacuum hose between turbo compressor housing, internal wastegate actuator bulb????

umm, forgive my ignorance. It was the hose that ran from the gauge to the back of the housing. Ill get a pic later.
