  • Snapase Syncronic diverter valve.

Anybody have one of these blow off valves i bought one and found out i need to adjust the the pre load spring and make it tighter but mine won't adjust even when i took it apart. mine runs rich and has such a loose spring and it pulls it open all the time when I'm on the throttle just slighly and isn't staying closed like it should when I'm on the throttle so it like my car has an intercooler pipe popped off and it runs weird and my air/fuel ratio goes to 10;1 all the time. any help would be great i only got the diverter valve to get rid if my compressor surge.
would a vacuum source not as strong be better if i can't adjust it the spring??

I do, but is recirculated like factory BOV. Did you recirculate the air from BOV???? You have to with MAF or use the VTA (Vent To Atmosphere) fitting. From what I understand the VTA fitting should help to stop too much air being vented and rich A/F ratio.

    VTA fitting -

Yes you have to get the anti stall kit installed and that will get rid of that problem,Also you have to have both vaccum ports hooked up.

well i already thought of that and got the anti-stall valve just because i do have a maf and want to run it to atmosphere and thats not it in don't think and before this valve i has a SSQV and it didn't even work so all i got every time i let off the throttle was turbo surge..
i have both vacuum ports a and b hooked up properly i thought of this before i bought it and researched it for a couple days i just get even worse A/F ratios than ever before??

Any airleak on vacuum side of Synapse BOV makes podfilter produce a flutter sound. If BOV is adjusted to factory specs and doesn't work, check o2 sensor. Lazy o2 sensor can make ECU make engine stay rich too long, pop flames from exhaust (popping sound).

well that sounds like a possibility because my car runs rich all the time but it has always popped flames lots the is nothing new it ran good before. ill check my o2 sensors.

i dont quite understand your issue.......there is no vacuum when your under BOOST you may have a faulty bov or its install error go through it all again .... i ran GFB bov same idea ..i think i had it at a 50 50 setting between VTA and RECERC i loveed it stil got quick spool an sick sound..best part 260$ shipped bolted it on set the 50 50 attached ONE SINGLE vac line..the stock one... and went took 5 minutes
TO GRIP OR NOT TO GRIP.... THAT IS THE QUESTION

Make sure spring isn't broken. I read about one case where it happened when adjusting spring preload on Synapse BOV. Not sure how it broke, but it did. On some BOV's like Tial?, the spring strength needs to match vacuum of engine (stock cams, aftermarket cams, etc that affects vacuum), but not sure if need to upgrade spring inside Synapse BOV.

Also I thought it was setup like my BOV (pull type), but it might be the opposite (push type). The new Synapse divertor valve can be set to pull type or push type. If opening under throttle with soft spring setting, that means it must be setup as push type. If rotate BOV (what hole is now the outlet with antistall valve installed, becomes the hole where the flange goes), which from what I understand sets BOV to pull type (boost keeps valve closed) and should solve on throttle / boost rich problem. But still need to reset spring preload to factory setting which affects how BOV opens when backing off throttle.

The test for o2 sensor is hold at around 2000rpm and note how many times it switches between the rich, lean voltage triggers via oscillioscope (auto electrician should have one) or turbo timer that has o2 sensor voltage feature (harder to monitor) or multimeter. I think healthy o2 sensor should switch between voltage triggers 5 times every 10 seconds. Basically rich, lean, rich, lean, rich in 10 seconds. If engine is running rich it could stuff o2 sensor, so might need to replace o2 sensor. The o2 sensor should be checked, replaced every 40,000-60,000km.
