I bought a 94 skyline r33 gts type m (stock turbo)Third day with it car has been stored for a while before i got it, now at say 4-5000rpm it losses power and wont his full boost everything sounds alright but theres no pull, not acceptable need help im new to the skyline so be descriptive thanksss!

From what I understand that is normal, as R33 RB25DET seems to have 2x boost settings. Some bypass? boost control solenoid to fix this. There should be tutorials out there on this mod. But in doing this mod you are taking away the ECU's control over boost level (switching to knock boost duty map).
If engine stopped reving after 4-5000rpm, I would say stock ECU is probably switching to knock maps (also known as low octane maps) for some reason. Faulty coilpacks, wide sparkplug gap, weak fuelpump making engine go lean and engine knocks (or wiring to fuelpump causing low voltage to fuelpump) to just to name a few.
Knock = unstable combustion inside cylinders on engine that can break piston rings, blow headgaskets, etc.Last edited by Skym; 05-16-2012, 01:33 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER

Theres no knocks in the motor at all, it sounds good but wont spool up her boost only hits 4 or 5psi and no faster then a civic! I checked the maf and the intake had come off completely, put it back on and still no power, car runs fine at low boost but runs like **** at high boost, could it be 02 sensor or a waste gate problem if so how do i go about diagnosing this problem need helpp on this asap worried to drive it, this is my everyday car, it only has 43,000kms but has been stored for a while and rode hard for a day and now no power blow off works great everything sounds normal but i did notice a smell of antifreeze and the top plug in on the front of the fuse box is black and looks burnt up what is this plug in.!! Please help!

Hmmm, sounds like it's a auto R33 internal wastegate actuator at 4-5psi or car was converted from auto to manual transmission if car currently has a manual transmission.
If missing at high rpm, higher boost levels, probably sparkplug gap is still at 1.1mm when should be 0.8mm.
How long was car stored for?, as could have some off gas in fueltank.
Antifreeze smell could mean leaking radiator overflow bottle (rare but does happen), leaking thermostat housing, spilt coolant, etc.
Not sure about the plug, do you have a photo of it??? With plugs near fuse box, they bridge two plugs to bypass start inhibitor (I think so can start engine when manual trans is in gear, which can't be done with a car that has a auto transmission).Last edited by Skym; 05-16-2012, 02:24 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER

I checked the knock sensors and one was out and is loose but also noticed slow leak arount the intake gastket, knock connector wont stay on but even when i get it to stay on it still seems to trip the sensor, and go to some sort of safe mode, is the motor leaning out because of a intake gastket leak? Would this trip this sensor?wher can i buy the connectors and knock sensors that ships in canada? How can i test the sensor

Intake manifold to head airleak does make engine run lean (check with wideband) and if engine is lean enough it should make ECU switch to knock maps (intake manifold airleak probably explains the lower boost level). Flange is probably not straight on intake manifold to head or it's blown the gasket. Intake manifold to head flange needs to be checked, skimmed if necessary before refitting.
