R33 stock turbo problem need helpp

I just noticed a weird whistle coming from the turbo when it spools up gets louder, you can notice it while its running slightly, what could it be? And should i worry

Could be a leak in the charge pipes or the turbo could be on the way out

How do i check? And it cuts in as soon as the gauge hits 0

Where can i get a replacement turbo and for what price?

Whistling sound can be due to

- Intake airleak after turbo
- Exhaust leak on exhaust manifold to turbo joint (gasket gets played like a reed in instrument at higher rpm) and sometimes is due to loose nuts because there's no locking tabs there to stop them coming undone. If this has happened, gasket needs to be replaced and new locking tabs installed.
- Compressor wheel touching compressor housing due to failed bearing / coking due to high oiltemps, hot shutdown or oil starvation related problem. Should notice oil leak under turbo due to compressor side oil seal has failed (off balance shaft has damaged oil seal) and have oil in bottom of intake piping after turbo. Intercooler, idle valves will probably need to be cleaned out if this has happened.

It doesnt sound like a leak, if the bearing is gone can i replace it or do i need a whole new turbo
