I wouldnt boost over 12 psi. Ceramic exhaust wheels on Rb20/25/26 turbos like to fly apart when pushed.

depend on your rb25det serie . Serie one turbo (45v1) can take max 14 psi while 45v2 will take 12psi at max. To be safe , do like beacher said and keep it at 12. Get yourself a good fmic , a tune and you should get around 230whp at 12 psi. I have similar mod ( minus the fuel system) and I made 263 whp at 16psi ( unsafe and turbo blew up )

I dont have any bottom end work done at all and it definitely is not daily driven but I am running 22 Psi on 50 trim greddy turbo and made 352WHP on my gtst. My bad experience was with the turbo that you have swapped in, I thought it was steel wheel but unfortunately on the compressor side it was Nylon and mine blew up and bent a valve. I would suggest 14 psi on those turbos TOPS. Or just get a new turbo.

Depends on how out of balance the shaft on turbo is. It could fail at any boost level when turbo shaft is off balance, car is thrashed. Higher boost level = higher rpm on turbo and more out of balance shaft gets. If stock RB20 turbo has done higher km, wouldn't go above 12psi. Around 10psi (same boost level on RB25DET) if using RB25 turbo, due to limit's of stock RB20 fuel system, lack of ECU tune to suit, stock SMIC, etc.

You can boost it up to 22psi on dyno (with upgraded intercooler, fuel system, etc), but how long headgasket last's under hard use when off dyno with weight of car, who knows. Most tend to run on low boost level when on street for longevity of engine, turbo.

Stock headgasket is the weak point, the rest is quite strong as long as ECU tune is safe, oiltemps are kept at safe levels, engine compression is still good, etc.

Sure is bud. Only head work done because of the bent valve.
I know it wont last long but while it does.. its so fun.. already looking for an RB25 to swap in so I can fully build the engine.
My rear tires are also small and dinky.. therefore, the power doesnt really get put down on the pavement, (wheel spin).. I had some really great hook ups through friends and other suppliers, therefore all the parts were thrown on but no bottom end work done.

                Thanks,

i personally wouldnt ever go anywhere near 22 psi on stock block. mostly because i enjoy driving my car everyday and dont wanna be abusive. FMIC + metal headgaskte+ maybe cams, im set for +18 psi

my RB20 turbo blew at stock boost around redline with only ~100K km on the odo. the stock turbos are crap, never going back to cermaic blades. have had a gt2871 for 18 months now and daily drive the car, there's prob a bit more lag compared to the smaller stock turbo but it's pretty good at top end. it's not exactly a drop in turbo though, need custom fabrication. i run 10-16 psi with fuel system upgrades, ecu, tune and full exhaust.
