91 r32 idle purge? need help ASAP!!

hey im looking at getting this 91 r32 on trade for my golf, but the problem with the r32 is that it seems to have an idle purge or something like that, the guy told me it putters but only after it warms up so i thought id ask some people on here if anyonw had the problem? and what you think i should do? i was told to do a z32 igniter swap but to me it sounds like a idle purge and not a putter or misfire, any ideas? i need some advice ASAP! thanks

Sounds like lazy o2 sensor making idle go up (lean) and down (rich). Also lazy o2 sensor can make ECU make engine stay rich longer and throw flames from exhaust (popping sound from exhaust). Sometimes it does that up and down when compensating for intake manifold to head flange airleak.

ohh okay soo is it okay to drive for awhile? and would just a new o2 senser be the fix?

buy my O2 sensor and replace it then all will be good, done and done

haha how much? and where do you live? i still have to get the car first i just wanted to make sure it wasnt a major deal before i got the car if you know what i mean

like skym said, sounds like a lazy o2 sensor... the one i have for sale is OEM direct replacement, 80 i am asking... normally around 100 in stores... there are some dealers on here that sell them for a bit cheaper but normally are sold out.
