RWD to AWD conversion?

If i were to do a RB26 conversion on a gtst, would i also be able to convert it to AWD? Someone told me if i wanted to do the conversion that i would have to do some cutting and welding on the chassis. is this true? or would it be a plug and play and the hard part would the wiring?

MUCH easier if you started with a GTS4 to begin with. If you have a GTR doner car that also makes it much easier. It's pretty much a bolt in but you need all the bits from a doner or you will be chasing parts forever.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy a GTR, they are pretty cheap nowadays.

The subframe mounts are totally different , Sounds like a lot of work, and money .why not just get a gtr?

Yea just get a gtr man, subframe, front knuckles/ control arms.

Its just not cost effective, unless you maybe found a donar / parts local for cheap.

The floorpan is different between R32 GTR, R32 GTS-4, R32 GTS-T. Both R32 GTR, R32 GTS-4 have a bump in floorpan for transfercase (probably can be added to R32 GTS-T floorpan). Apart from that and obvious visual differences like fenders, etc the R32 GTS-4, R32 GTR chassis should be identical to R32 GTS-T.

Some buy 4 door R32 GTS-4 and convert to 4 door R32 GTR (something different).

It's similar to what Autech did with R33 4 door GTS-4 into a R33 4 door GTR (factory 4 door GTR, as has the blue ID plate on firewall) -

Great, thanks for the info guys. I have a wrecked Gtr. I want another gtr and all I could find locally is a GTS-T. That's why I was wondering.
