  • Planning a 1990 HCR32 350hp rwhp daily

I am brand new here, and am new to skylines, so please forgive my "noobness"

I have come to the decision that I want to build a 1990 HCR32 350hp rwhp daily.
I do not know what works well together, or good places or prices to buy parts at, ect..
This is a general parts list that I have thought of. Aswell I plan to rebuild most of the car, excluding the interior.

    Engine:
    -Turbo (Hks or Garrett)
    -Intercooler
    -Bov (probably Hks)
    -screamer pipe
    -Coilovers
    -Cams
    -Exhaust (probably cats)
    -Boost contoller and rev limiter.

This build is on a budget, and i would love to hear everyone's feedback on this, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea I guess with all that boost i will need more fuel so that I don't run to lean.

Where is a good place to buy aftermarket parts?

states. ship them to blaine and run them across.

you'll also find a lot of good quality stuff on gtrcanada for sale section. keep looking there.

          - ecu with nistune, dyno tune, synchronic Bov, fmic, aftermarket turbo of your choice, injectors, Bosch or tomei fuel pump, 3" dp and exhaust (I don't like screamers on street cars) with a setup like that you are able to achieve 300+ hp without opening your engine. I'd save the money you'd spend on cams and coilovers to help get better quality parts (mostly turbo) hope this helps and welcome to Gtrc!

So i have done some more research and made a rough parts list.

              -Garrett 2871 http://www.maperformance.com/garrett...l#.URLe3R25OSo
              -Greddy electronic boost controller http://www.amsmotorsports.com/shop/i...ontroller.html
              -Fmic http://www.frsport.com/Blitz-13107-L...3_p_15082.html
              -Injectors, 555cc http://www.frsport.com/Tomei-195014-...6_p_25305.html
              -fuel pump http://www.ebay.ca/itm/89-94-NISSAN-...ht_6453wt_1159
              -Bov http://www.amsmotorsports.com/shop/i...off-valve.html
-hks pod filter and hi flow cats

what do you guys think I will need for ecu, boost controller, turbo timer, rev-limiter, ect....
Also do you think I can achieve 350rwhp with this, or i overshot it? all feedback is greatly appreciated!

Very achievable goal for a daily driver

Search other build threads to get some ideas, everything has been done and posted a billion times.

If you wanna save some cash use a test pipe or just pound out the ceramics inside the cat. Mine doesn't run to loud without cat either.

I have further researched, and fine tuned my parts list.

                      garrett 2871
                      greddy electronic boost controller
                      greddy turbo timer
                      bee r rev limiter
                      apexi intake filter kit
                      ecu with nistune
                      Fmic
                      injectors, 550cc
                      255 WALBRO FUEL PUMP
                      3" dp and exhaust
                      hks Bov
                      NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs
                      tomei poncams

I have some questions regarding a rebuild.
My dad (who I am building the car with) really wants to rebuild the engine, but it seems rather expensive and not worth it.
If i was to rebuild, my thoughts where to get new: valve springs, gaskets, seals, and bushings.
my total budget atm for parts is 5k, and want to know if you guys think this is a good idea or not?

He's right, it's best to do a basic refresh, especially if engine has done over 100,000km (when it's recommended to rebuild engine).

Basic upgrades with refresh should be Tomei valve spings (if running aggressive cams later on, more lift than with Tomei Poncams, or valve springs are old and reving to 7500rpm on racetrack), ACL bearings, aftermarket oilpump drive collar (fix factory short oilpump drive on front of crank), 1.2mm, 80.5mm Tomei metal headgasket (ask engine rebuilder, as they can tell you correct thickness for compression). If can afford it, upgrade pistons to forged pistons if tracking the car or running over 20psi.
